Rocker type spot welders Rocker type spot welders
The rocker arm type is the most commonly used stationary resistance welding machine. The upper arm is pivoted at the top front of the frame. The lower arm is usually mounted horizontally and can generally be adjusted on a front vertical column for work clearance. [To read more, click on picture]
Seam welders Seam welders
A standard Seam Welder is usually built on a press type welder frame, but the upper and lower electrode holders or platens are replaced with welding wheels mounted on shafts rotating in current carrying bearings. These wheels are driven by motor gear. [To read more, click on picture]
Suspended Gun type spot welders Suspended Gun type spot welders
Suspended gun type spot welders are used for their mobility and their ease of movements for large or complex assemblies. The gun type welder can be mounted on a balancer to ease the vertical movements and on an overhead travelling crane for horizontal movements. [To read more, click on picture]
Butt and flash-butt welders Butt and flash-butt welders
Butt welders are used for welding parts end-to-end, usually metal wires. It uses electrode-clamps that hold the parts and inject current until the point of fusion of the materials. It then brings the parts together to be joined. [To read more, click on picture]
Capacitive discharge and micro welders Capacitive discharge and micro welders
Capacitive Discharge spot welders are one of the most cost-effective welding solutions for fine-spot resistance welding. Whether you are manufacturing battery packs or microscopic assemblies, Capacitive Discharge spot welders are the most affordable, precision fine-spot resistance welders on the market. NEWSLETTER - May 2009 Edition

Word of the president

A year already has passed since our last Newsletter. This past year has been one of the most challenging, but also one of the most stimulating. In today’s economical crisis, we have to be more imaginative to answer our clients’ needs and also to face our own reactions toward the economical situation.

Imagination and creativity are important elements in designing the future, but also to build the present. That is why we have used this energy source to feed us in answering this question: “How can we help both our actual and potential clients and ourselves to come out of this crisis?” An interesting suggestion came up: to organise a conference to explain the benefits and advantages of resistance welding. I invite you to read below for more details regarding that event. I hope that this conference will be of interest to you and that you will come in great number.

Did you know that...

... neglecting maintenance on the secondary circuit of your resistance welder can affect its efficiency and operation and even damage it permanently?

It is important to have regular maintenance, every 2 to 3 years, of all the conductive surfaces of the secondary circuit. Its natural oxidation increases the electrical resistivity. The secondary circuit of a resistance welder includes all the electrical contacts from the transformer up to the electrodes, passing by the shunts, the arms and the electrode holders. By rectifying the conductive surfaces, by means of machining all the contact surfaces, and by applying high conductive and high temperature copper paste everywhere necessary, you could avoid the possible fusion of the secondary circuit and even damaging the machine’s transformer permanently. At the same time, you can use this opportunity to verify the isolation while you are at it.

A healthy secondary circuit on a resistance welder will make it more productive, stable and will be more economical to run on your electricity bill.

The Service Team from Techno-Control Cybernetic can help you with this maintenance. Contact us to get more details.
